Fighting Ebola in Oxford

Four out of the five vaccines trialled in Africa during the 2014 Ebola epidemic were first tested at the University of Oxford. Professor Adrian Hill, the director of the Jenner Institute, was instrumental in leading this test programme. His research group has also tested candidate malaria vaccines, and together with his colleagues, he has advised governments on how to prepare for future epidemics.
