Approvers

On submission, an employee's timesheet is marked as awaiting approval. Those with approval authority for the relevant grant(s) are then able to approve or reject this timesheet. Once an approver for each relevant grant has approved the timesheet it can be seen in the employee's 'Historical Timesheets' section, and the data will be included in reports.
If the employee is employed on multiple grants for this month then the timesheet hours are split by grant and must be approved by an approver for each relevant grant.

An approver is typically a PI or lead researcher.

Reviewers

Reviewers are able to monitor time that an approver has spent on a grant, and can approve or reject approvers' timesheets in the same way as approvers can for employees' timesheets. Once the timesheet has been approved it will appear in the approver's 'Historical Timesheets' section, and the data will be included in reports.

A Reviewer is typically a member of the departmental administration team.
